Malaysia Stocks: Evergreen Fibreboard, IOI Corp, Masterskill

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Malaysia trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 12:30 p.m. break in Kuala Lumpur.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBMKLCI) Index fell for a fifth day, declining 1 percent to 1,439.93, heading for the lowest close since Oct. 21.

Evergreen Fibreboard Bhd. (EVF) , a Malaysian panel-board maker, rose 1.7 percent to 89 sen, bound for the largest jump since Oct. 27. Net income in the third quarter climbed 24 percent to 24.1 million ringgit ($7.6 million).

IOI Corp. (IOI MK), Malaysia’s second-biggest palm oil planter by market value, declined 1.2 percent to 5 ringgit, poised for the lowest close since Oct. 21. Profit in the first quarter dropped 48 percent to 258.1 million ringgit.

Masterskill Education Group Bhd. (MASEG) , Malaysia’s largest operator of private nursing colleges, lost 4.2 percent to 1.15 ringgit, set for its lowest close since Oct. 21. Profit in the third quarter tumbled 79 percent to 5.55 million ringgit.
