Jordan Oil Shale Energy Co. (JOSE), a unit of Estonia’s Eesti Energia AS, is due to sign an agreement with the Jordanian government by year-end to build a power plant that runs on oil shale, the Jordan Times said.
The 700-megawatt plant will be built in the central region of Attarat and operational in 2016, the newspaper said, citing Jordan Oil Shale Energy Chairman Harri Mikk and an official from the Jordanian energy ministry that it didn’t identify.
