O’Neill Says China May Surpass U.S. by 2027, Telegraph Reports

China could overtake the U.S. to become the world’s largest economy by 2027, according to Jim O’Neill, chairman of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, the Sunday Telegraph reported.

O’Neill, who crafted the concept of the BRIC nations to describe the emerging might of Brazil, Russia, India and China, said the growth of these economies has exceeded even his expectations, according to the newspaper.

The comments are from his new book, The Growth Map, which is serialized in the London-based newspaper.
