Jiangxi, Freeport Agree to 12.4% Rise in Copper Fees: Reuters

Jiangxi Copper Co. and Freeport- McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. agreed to a 12.4 percent rise in treatment and refining charges for next year, Reuters reported, citing a Jiangxi Copper source it didn’t name.

The charges are set at $63.5 a metric ton and 6.35 cents a pound for standard, clean concentrates, the report said. Jiangxi will receive about 100,000 tons of term concentrates, used for producing refined copper, in 2012 and unchanged from last year, Reuters said.
