Ireland’s government will cut its annual social-welfare bill by 110 million euros ($149 million) by cutting child benefit by 10 euros a month, the Sunday Times reported in its Irish edition, without saying where it obtained the information.

The cut, to apply in the 2012 budget, will be made to the current allowance, which is 140 euros a month for one child, the newspaper reported.
