Top Chefs Atherton, Wareing Compete for Bids to Cook in Homes for Charity

Twenty of London’s leading chefs have been lined up to cook together for “Who’s Cooking Dinner?” an annual charity event where diners may also bid for the culinary masters to come and prepare meals at their homes.

Jason Atherton of Pollen Street Social, Rainer Becker (Zuma), Richard Corrigan (Corrigan’s Mayfair), Philip Howard (The Square) and Marcus Wareing (Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley) are among those who have agreed to take part on March 5.

“We’re so lucky to have such an amazing family of chefs and restaurants supporting this event,” said the event’s chairman Chris Corbin, the restaurateur who runs the Wolseley with his business partner, Jeremy King.

Each chef creates a four-course menu for one table of 10 people with accompanying wines. Only after a draw on the night do guests discover which chef is cooking for them. The evening ends with an auction, when diners bid for individual chefs to come and cook dinner for 10 people at their homes.

The event, at the Four Seasons Hotel, is for Leuka, which raises money for leukemia research and treatment. There are 20 tables, each costing 6,000 pounds ($9,450). Nineteen of the chefs have been confirmed so far. Information: +44-7815-724023 or http://www.whoscookingdinner.com/.
