Gamesa Cancels $81 Million Syrian Wind-Farm Deal, Expansion Says

Gamesa Corp. Tecnologica SA declined to continue with a 60 million-euro ($80.93 million) contract to build a Syrian wind power plant in protest for the government’s repression to its own citizens, Expansion said citing Chairman Jorge Calvet.

The contract had been awarded by the Syrian government last year before the riots started, Calvet said at an event organized by the London School of Economics.
