The following companies are having unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 11:04 a.m. in Santiago.
The Ipsa index rose 0.4 percent to 4,305.14. The MSCI Chile (MXCL) index advanced 0.4 percent to 2,371.19.
Empresas Iansa SA (IANSA) , the country’s largest sugar producer, gained 3.2 percent to 38.90 pesos. Raw sugar for March delivery rose 0.4 percent to 24.14 cents a pound.
Lan Airlines SA (LAN CC) rose for the first time in three days, climbing 0.6 percent to 12,250 pesos. Latin America’s biggest carrier by market value will decide whether to remain a member of the Oneworld group or join Star Alliance by the end of the first half of next year, Lan President and Chief Operating Officer Ignacio Cueto said.
Soc. Quimica & Minera de Chile SA (SQM/B CC) advanced 0.5 percent to 29,001 pesos after two days of losses. Gains in global crop and energy prices signaled increased demand for Chile’s largest fertilizer exporter.
