Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Bangkok.
The SET Index rose for a fifth day, climbing 1.2 percent to 997.11, the highest close since Sept. 21.
MSCI-related stocks: LH Financial Group Pcl (LHBANK TB), True Corp. Pcl (TRUE TB) and Siam Global House Pcl (GLOBAL) climbed after MSCI Inc. said the stocks will be added to MSCI Global Small Cap Indices.
LH Financial, a finance company, climbed 6.2 percent to 1.37 baht, the largest increase since July 4. True Corp., the operator of the nation’s third-largest mobile-phone network, advanced 6.9 percent to 3.12 baht, the highest close since Sept. 30. Siam Global, a retailer of home improvement products, added 4.8 percent to 9.75 baht.
Bangchak Petroleum Pcl (BCP) , a state-controlled refiner, gained 2.8 percent to 18.7 baht. The company’s terminal in Bang Pa-In district in Ayutthaya province wasn’t damaged by flooding and resumed fuel shipments on Nov. 15, Bangchak said in a regulatory filing. Bangchak Biofuel, a unit that produces biodiesel, will resume operations this month, it said.
P Plus P Pcl (PLUS) , a Thai publisher of books and newspapers, jumped 5.6 percent to 0.38 baht, the largest increase since Oct. 4. Net income in the third quarter tripled to 24.3 million baht ($787,427).
Thai Optical Group Pcl (TOG) , the nation’s biggest publicly traded maker of optical glasses, rose 3.7 percent to 2.78 baht, the steepest advance since Aug. 31. The company will resume operations at a plant in Nonthaburi province on Nov. 21 after floods receded, it said in a regulatory filing.
