Qatar Airways Still Interested in Bombardier’s CSeries, CEO Says

Qatar Airways Ltd. remains a potential customer for Canadian manufacturer Bombardier Inc.’s CSeries rival to the Airbus SAS A320 and Boeing Co. (BA) 737 single- aisle jets, Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said today.

“We’re still interested in the CSeries but we have our hands full,” Al Baker said at the Dubai Air show, adding that the carrier is talking with Bombardier about a requirement for a “large number” of corporate aircraft.

Qatar Airways has been working on expanding a business-jet unit which currently operates six Bombardier aircraft, according to a company factsheet dated October.

“We want to expand, but we want to bite something that we can chew,” the CEO told reporters.
