U.K. Senior Civil Servants Vote to Join Nov. 30 Pension Strike

The U.K.’s senior civil servants voted to join in a public-sector strike on Nov. 30 over government plans to curb pensions.

Members of the First Division Association, which represents 18,000 government employees including senior managers, economists and special advisers, voted 81 percent in favor of action on a turnout of 54 percent, the union said in a statement posted on its website.

The union’s executive is “likely to call on its members to strike” when it meets tomorrow, the FDA said.
