Razgulay Group Harvested 130,000 Tons of Rice, Same as in 2010

OAO Razgulay Group, Russia’s biggest producer of rice, harvested 130,000 metric tons of the grain, the same amount as last year, the company said in an e-mailed statement.

The Moscow-based company’s rice field harvest was completed on Nov. 10, according to the statement released today. About 18,000 hectares (44,470 acres) were sown this year, up from 17,500 hectares in 2010.

Razgulay supplies more than 30 percent of Russia’s domestic rice from its own production and imports, and 36 percent of the country’s rice export market.
