Delta Air Lines to Add 12 Flights From New York City Next Year

Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL) plans to add a dozen new daily flights from New York to the Caribbean and U.S. locations in 2012 as it competes with United Continental Holdings Inc. in the nation’s busiest aviation market.

New flights and increased frequencies from John F. Kennedy airport include Santo Domingo and Santiago, Dominican Republic, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, the Atlanta-based carrier said today in a statement. Delta will also add service from JFK to cities including New Orleans, San Francisco and Los Angeles, and a new nonstop flight from LaGuardia airport to Nassau, Bahamas.
