China Cracks Down on Online Black Market Nationwide, Xinhua Says

China started a nationwide crackdown on online black markets selling illegal goods such as weapons and human organs, the official Xinhua News Agency said, citing the Ministry of Public Security.

The campaign, to last until February, is also against online trafficking of items such as guns, explosives, knives, poisonous chemicals, wiretapping software, fake identity cards, counterfeit money and personal information, the report said. The police will shut down websites, suspend related phone numbers and online accounts and punish those involved, it said.
