Gazprom Acquires Germany’s Envacom, Frankfurter Rundschau Says

OAO Gazprom bought Envacom Service GmbH, a German electricity and telecommunications provider, to enter the country’s consumer market, Frankfurter Rundschau reported yesterday, citing the head of the German company.

Envacom chief Tillmann Raith told business partners in a Nov. 10 e-mail that he sold all partnership shares, according to the newspaper. The Federal Cartel Office has approved the transaction, Frankfurter Rundschau said.

Press officers for Gazprom Marketing & Trading in London didn’t answer their mobile phones today. An Envacom spokesman didn’t answer a call to his office in Walluf, Germany.
