ENL Land Ltd. (SAVA), a Mauritian company with interests in sugar cane and property, expects profit to rise as contributions from a new shopping mall kick in.
Net income for the first quarter through September declined 12 percent to 71.8 million rupees ($2.47 million) compared with a year earlier, it said in a statement received by e-mail today from CIM Stockbrokers Ltd. Revenue fell to 267.6 million rupees from 315.3 million rupees, it said.
The number of visitors at the Bagatelle Mall of Mauritius, which opened on Sept. 29, “has exceeded our expectations,” ENL Land said. The mall, south of Port Louis, the capital, is generating an operating profit “and we believe that our investment will prove fruitful,” it said.
