Palmer Throws for Two Touchdowns as Raiders Defeat Chargers 24-17 in NFL

Carson Palmer threw two touchdown passes to Denarius Moore as the Oakland Raiders handed the San Diego Chargers their fourth straight defeat in the National Football League.

Palmer found Moore with 33 and 26-yard passes in the second and third quarters last night as the Raiders won 24-17 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego to book their first victory in three starts.

Moore had five receptions for 123 yards and Michael Bush ran 30 times for a season-high 157 yards, including a 2 yard dash for a touchdown at the end of the first quarter. Since making his NFL debut in 2008, Bush has only once rushed for more yards, when he finished with 177 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Dec. 28, 2008.

Sebastian Janikowski added a 23-yard field goal for the Raiders, who are in first place in the four-team American Football Conference West with a 5-4 record.

Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers found Vincent Brown and Jacob Hester with touchdown passes in the third quarter. Nick Novak opened the scoring with a 20-yard field goal for San Diego (4-5), which is third in the AFC West.

Palmer completed 14 of 20 passes for 299 yards and an interception. Rivers made 23 of 47 pass attempts for 274 yards and an interception.
