Thailand’s Virabongsa Says Flood Damage Won’t Happen Again

The Thai government’s long-term water management plan will ensure there isn’t a repeat of this year’s flooding disaster, said Virabongsa Ramangkura, the head of a new committee for reconstruction and development.

Projects planned over the next 12 months will ensure the safety of industrial parks based in the country, said Virabongsa, head of the Strategic Formulation Committee for Reconstruction and Future Development, at a media briefing in Bangkok today.

Thailand will seek input from Japan’s government and industry groups on measures the country can take to retain international investment, Virabongsa said, without giving details.
