India’s Uttar Pradesh Sets Cane Price at 2,400 Rupees

India’s Uttar Pradesh state fixed the price of sugar cane at 2,400 rupees a metric ton, Indian Sugar Mills Association Director General Abinash Verma said in a phone interview today.
The northern state, the largest producer of sugar cane in the country, set a price of 2,500 rupees a ton for a higher- yielding variety, Verma said.
