Algeria Agrees to Purchase Corn for $275 a Ton, Agritel Reports

Algeria agreed to buy 50,000 metric tons of corn for $275 a ton on a cost-and-freight basis, with loading starting in December, Agritel reported.

While the origin remains optional, the Black Sea region is likely the only one that can meet the negotiated price for the grain, the Paris-based farm adviser said on its website today, without saying where it got the information.
