Italian Gold Sale Raised by CDU Lawmaker, Rheinische Post Says

Italy could lower its debt by selling gold reserves, Gunther Krichbaum, a lawmaker in German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s governing coalition, was quoted as saying by the Rheinische Post.

Italy’s gold reserves are relatively high, Krichbaum, who chairs the German parliament’s European affairs committee, was quoted as saying in an e-mailed summary of an article to appear in the newspaper today.
