Schaeuble Tells ARD It’s for Greek Public to Decide on Euro

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble wants the Greek public to decide whether they want to stay in the euro area, by referendum or elections, he said in an interview with television station ARD posted on its website.

Germany is willing to help but Greece must implement the agreed measures, Schaeuble said, ARD reported. If Greece fails to do so then something must be done to prevent contagion for the euro as a whole, he told ARD.
