Peru Stocks: Buenaventura, Credicorp, Rio Alto, Southern Copper

The following companies had unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 4:10 p.m. New York time.

The Lima General Index rose 0.5 percent to 19,579.97. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index climbed 1.3 percent to 2,614.62.

Mining shares gained as metals advanced in New York and London, said Estefany Castillo, an analyst at Scotiabank Peru.

Cia. de Minas Buenaventura SAA (BVN PE), the country’s biggest precious-metals miner, rose 3.2 percent to $43.60. Rio Alto Mining Ltd. (RIO) , a Canadian gold exploration company, gained 2.8 percent to $2.95. Southern Copper Corp. (SCCO) , Peru’s biggest copper producer, advanced 2.8 percent to $31.60. Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde SA (CVERDEC1 PE), a unit of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., climbed 1.1 percent to $35.90.

Credicorp Ltd. (BAP) , Peru’s largest financial-services company, gained 2.5 percent to $111. The company is scheduled to report third-quarter earnings after the market closes today.
