Mexico’s manufacturing index was 51.4 in October, the Mexican Institute of Finance Executives, or IMEF, said today.
The non-manufacturing index was 53.0, the institute said in an e-mailed statement. Economists forecast the manufacturing index would be 50.4, according to the median of seven estimates. The non-manufacturing index was expected to be 50.5 for October, a separate survey of six economists showed.
The institute calculates the index with technical support from Inegi, as Mexico’s statistics agency is known.
