Madoff Customers’ Lawyer Asks Judge to Review 121 Clawback Suits

Lawyer Helen Chaitman filed 121 requests in two days asking a judge to review the Bernard Madoff trustee’s lawsuits against her clients, according to Chaitman and court filings. U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff’s ruling in the case against the New York Mets owners barred the trustee from taking back more than two years of withdrawals from the Ponzi scheme, and affirmed that a brokerage firm’s debt to a client can’t be taken back, Chaitman said in an e-mail today.
