Indonesia Approves Plan for Genting’s Ande-Ande Lumut Oil Field

Indonesia has approved a development plan for the Ande-Ande Lumut oil field that is operated by a unit of Genting Bhd., according to Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik.

“With the approval, they can start working on the concession,” Wacik told reporters in a press briefing today.

Ande-Ande Lumut, operated by Genting Oil Natuna Pte Ltd., is expected to produce 5,000 barrels of oil a day starting from the end of 2014, Gde Pradnyana, spokesman for the country’s energy regulator BPMigas, said in a text message today. The offshore field is in the Northwest Natuna block.
