T.J. Houshmandzadeh Signs With Raiders, Rejoins Quarterback Carson Palmer

The Oakland Raiders signed wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, a 10-year National Football League veteran who was teammates with quarterback Carson Palmer in Cincinnati for five seasons.

Houshmandzadeh, 34, has 616 career receptions for 7,091 yards and 43 touchdowns for the Bengals, Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens. He started two of 16 games for the Ravens in 2010 and caught 30 passes for 398 yards and three scores.

Houshmandzadeh played in Cincinnati from 2001 to 2008 and had two 1,000-yard receiving seasons while teaming with Palmer, who was acquired by the Raiders last month. Raiders coach Hue Jackson previously worked with Houshmandzadeh as the Bengals’ receivers coach from 2004 to 2006.

The Raiders were shut out by Kansas City on Oct. 23 in their first game since losing quarterback Jason Campbell to a broken collarbone. Palmer and Kyle Boller combined to throw six interceptions for Oakland, which has a 4-3 record and hosts the Denver Broncos this week.
