Former Croatian Minister Arrested for 1945 War Crimes, TV Says

Former Croatian Interior Minister Josip Boljkovac was arrested today for suspicion of committing war crimes against civilians in May 1945 as a member of the communist secret police, state television reported, citing his lawyer, Anto Nobilo.

Boljkovac, 89, was Croatia’s first interior minister after the Balkan country broke away from the former Yugoslavia in 1991.
