Motorola Solutions Inc. may invest in technology companies in Serbia to expand its ongoing work of providing secured communications for the government, the Balkan country’s deputy prime minister said.
The existing project for encrypted communications systems for Serbia’s Interior Ministry is 40 percent complete and further work on this and other projects for the government may involve partnership with local software specialists, Ivica Dacic said in a statement e-mailed today after his meeting with Motorola executives in Illinois yesterday.
“The task is to cover all of Serbia’s territory” with “independent data transfer systems” initially for the police and later possibly for the military, utilities and emergency services, said Dacic, who also serves as the interior minister in charge of police.
