Jordan Telecom (JTEL) Corp. said profit dropped by 5.4 percent from a year earlier in the first nine months to 65.5 million dinars ($92 million).
The drop is due to a decrease in gross operating income and a decline in financial income due to lower interest rates on bank deposits, Amman-based Jordan Telecom said in an emailed statement.
The company’s subscriber base rose by 15 percent from a year earlier to 3.47 million, it said. France Telecom owns a 51 percent share in the group.
