Turkish Earthquake Death Toll Rises to 582, Government Says

The death toll in the 7.2-magnitude earthquake in Turkey’s eastern province of Van rose to 582, the disaster management agency said in a statement on its website.

As many as 4,152 people reported to hospitals seeking treatment after the quake, it said. Rescuers pulled 188 people alive from the rubble of the tremor that struck Oct. 23, the agency said.
