Peru Stocks: Buenaventura, Candente, Maple, Rio Alto, Volcan
The following companies are having unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 1:40 p.m. local.
The Lima General Index rose for a third session, adding 0.1 percent to 20,029.39. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index gained 0.4 percent to 2,663.81.
Copper and zinc miners gained after metals advanced in New York and London, said Hernando Pastor, an analyst at Lima-based Juan Magot y Asociados SAB.
Volcan Cia. Minera SAA (VOLCABC1 PE), Peru’s largest zinc producer, rose 2.2 percent to 2.74 soles. Cia. de Minas Buenaventura SAA (BVN PE), the nation’s largest precious metals producer, climbed 1.7 percent to $43. The company is scheduled to publish third-quarter earnings after market close today. Rio Alto Mining Ltd. (RIO) , a Canadian gold exploration company, gained 1.8 percent to $2.89. Candente Copper Corp. (DNT) , a Canadian exploration company, rose 0.9 percent to $1.18.
Fuel refiners slumped after crude futures in New York declined.
Maple Energy Plc (MPLE) , the oil and natural gas producer with operations in Peru, dropped 2.7 percent to $1.09. Refineria la Pampilla SA (RELAPAC1 PE), a unit of Spain’s Repsol YPF SA known as Relapasa, fell 2.3 percent to 85 centimos.
