GE Unit, Germany’S KGAL Jointly Invest EU111.1 Million in Plant

General Electric Co. (GE)’s GE Energy Financial Services unit said it and the German fund KGAL will invest 111.1 million euros in a 50-megawatt solar thermal plant using parabolic trough mirrors in Badajoz, Spain.

The plant at Torre de Miguel Sesmero also will use a molten salt system, allowing for energy storage, according to a statement from GE on Business Wire today.
