✓ Cardinals Outfielder Holliday Will Miss Series Game 7 With Injured Wrist

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday won’t play tonight in Game 7 of the World Series after spraining his right wrist in the team’s 10-9 victory yesterday.

Rookie Adron Chambers has replaced Holliday on the active roster, the Major League Baseball team announced today on its website. Holliday was injured when he dove into third base on a pick-off play in the sixth inning.

Holliday, 31, was third on the team this season in home runs, with 22, and runs batted in, with 75. The five-time All- Star and 2007 National League batting champion hit .294 in the playoffs with 13 runs scored.

Chambers has appeared in 10 games during the postseason, going 1-for-5 with 2 RBI.
