BNP Paribas (BNP) SA, France’s largest bank, said it doesn’t need to raise new capital to meet European Banking Authority requirements.
“BNP Paribas confirms that it will be able to conform with new EBA rules,” Isabelle Wolff, a Paris-based spokeswoman, said by phone today. BNP Paribas can reach the EBA’s requirement of a 9 percent common equity Tier 1 ratio by June 30, 2012, “without having to raise external capital,” she said.
