Stanford University today submitted a proposal to partner with New York City to build a $2.5 billion applied sciences and engineering campus called StanfordNYC.
Stanford is commiting an initial $200 million to the proposal for a 30-year campus development on Roosevelt Island focusing on graduate-level teaching and research, according to an e-mailed statement. If selected by New York City, Stanford said it would start a $1.5 billion, 10-year fundraising campaign to finance the new campus.
