Angola, sub-Saharan Africa’s second biggest oil producer, plans to approve a 4.42 trillion-kwanza ($46.5 billion) 2012 budget proposal in December, Luanda-based Agencia Angola Press reported, citing the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Norberto Fernando dos Santos.
The draft budget was submitted to parliament in the capital Luanda today, Angop said. One third of the budget is to be spent on the “social sector,” a 10 percent increase from this year’s budget, said the state-owned news agency, citing the minister.
