Pasquale De Vita, head of Italian industry group Unione Petrolifera, said that four or five refineries are “at risk” of being closed in Italy, daily Corriere della Sera reported.
The potential shutdowns may affect 1,500 jobs, De Vita told Corriere in an interview. He declined to say which of the 16 refineries in Italy may be closed, adding that plans will be discussed with the government at a meeting next week.
