India’s Ahluwalia Says It’s ‘Best’ to Auction Telecom Licenses

Montek Singh Ahluwalia, deputy chairman of India’s Planning Commission, said the “best” option for the government is to auction the telecommunications licenses which are coming up for renewal in 2014.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India and the Telecom Commission will help the government form the license renewal policy, Ahluwalia said in an interview today.
