Note 1: Composite CPI covers 90 percent of households with average monthly
expenditure of HK$4,200-$60,400 in 2004 prices.
CPI (A) covers 50 percent of households with average monthly
expenditure of HK$4,200-$17,000 in 2004 prices.
CPI (B) covers 30 percent of households with average monthly
expenditure of HK$17,000-$29,800 in 2004 prices.
CPI (C) covers 10 percent of households with average monthly
expenditure of HK$29,800-$60,400 in 2004 prices.
Note 2: Base October 2004 - September 2005.
Note 3: Figures are not seasonally adjusted.
Note 4: The larger year-on-year rates of change in the CPIs in July were
mainly due to the low base of comparison resulted from the
Government’s payment of public housing rentals in July last year.
