Brazil’s Rousseff to Ask Carmakers to Avoid Layoffs, Folha Says

President Dilma Rousseff wants automakers to avoid laying off workers on the first signs of a serious economic slowdown, Folha de S.Paulo reported, without saying where it got the information.

Finance Minister Guido Mantega will meet representatives of carmakers next week to make the request, the newspaper said.
