China’s Inflation Rate to Rise to 5.5% This Year, Xinhua Says

China’s inflation rate will probably increase 5.5 percent this year, while growth in gross domestic product will be around 9.4 percent, the state-run Xinhua News Agency reported, citing Fan Jianping, director of economic forecasting at the State Information Center.

The inflation rate will likely slow to 4 percent by the end of next year, the report said, citing Fan at a conference in Beijing.
