The Japanese government plans to challenge Brazil decision to increase the so-called IPI tax for cars using less than 65 percent of locally-produced parts at a World Trade Organization’s commission, Valor Economico reported, without saying where it obtained the information.
Japan decided to complain to the WTO’s committee of market access, the Sao Paulo-based newspaper said. The complaint may lead to trade disputes, Valor said.
