India defeated England by 126 runs in their opening one-day cricket match in Hyderabad.
Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets each as England was bowled out for 174 after being set a target of 301. Alastair Cook top scored for the visitors, who collapsed after reaching 110-2.
MS Dhoni was 87 not out and Suresh Raina scored 55 for India, which reached 300-7 after winning the toss and electing to bat.
The five-game series continues in Delhi in three days. India was winless on a tour of England this summer, being swept in a four-match Test series, losing a one-day series 3-0 and dropping a Twenty20 match.
