Colombian Stock Movers: Coltejer, Pacific Rubiales Energy Gain
The following companies had unusual price changes in Bogota trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 3 p.m. local time.
The IGBC Index rose 0.4 percent to 13,355.48 while the Colcap Index gained 0.4 percent to 1,618.42.
Coltejer SA (COLTEJ) , a Colombian clothing maker and exporter, rose 1 percent to 1.01 pesos. President Barack Obama may sign bills for free-trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama after they were approved by U.S. lawmakers Oct. 12.
Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp. (PRE) , the Toronto-based oil producer that operates fields in Colombia, rose 0.7 percent to 44,700 pesos, a three-week high. The company agreed to buy 19 percent of outstanding shares in CGX Energy Inc., a Toronto- based exploration company with blocks in Guyana, for $41 million, according to a statement on its website late yesterday.
