Google Expands EBooks Service to the U.K., Partners with Pearson

Google Inc. (GOOG) expanded its eBooks service to the U.K., teaming up with publishers including Pearson Plc (PSON)’s Penguin, Lagardere SCA (MMB)’s Hachette and Bertelsmann AG’s Random House.

Google’s eBooks, a cloud-based digital bookselling service, will offer hundreds of thousands of titles for sale, the company said today. EBooks users can also access more than two million free, public domain books.
