Ex-Justice Department Chief of Staff Vieira Hired by Wilson Sonsini Firm
Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the law firm whose clients include Google Inc., hired Donald L. Vieira, a former chief of staff in the U.S. Justice Department’s national security division.
“Don has broad and deep expertise in a number of areas of prime importance to many of our clients, such as cyber security, export controls, sanctions, foreign investments, and other national security matters related to private enterprises,” Wilson Sonsini Chief Executive Officer Steve Bochner said today in a statement.
Vieira, who will be a partner in the Palo Alto, California- based firm’s Washington office, will focus on regulatory and enforcement issues related to foreign investments and data security, according to the statement.
At the Justice Department, Vieira was responsible for day- to-day management of his division, according to the statement.
Vieira, who got his law degree from Georgetown University, started his law career at Williams & Connolly LLP, where he focused on white-collar criminal defense and corruption probes, according to the statement.
