Japan’s KDDI to Replace Up to 2 Million Handset Batteries on Overheating

KDDI Corp. (9433) will replace as many as 2 million batteries in three Japanese mobile handset models made by Hitachi Ltd. (6501) and Casio Computer Co. due to concerns the batteries may overheat.

The company received eight reports of the batteries overheating, according to a statement on its website today.
