Thailand Stock Movers: Ch. Karnchang, Luckytex, PTT Exploration

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 10:39 a.m. in Bangkok.

The SET Index fell 2.41 points, or 0.3 percent, to 944.21. The gauge has slid 9.3 percent this quarter, heading for the biggest quarterly loss since the three months to December 2008.

Ch. Karnchang Pcl (CK TB) gained 1.7 percent to 6 baht. The construction company won a contract valued at 105 million baht ($3.4 million) to build a consulate office and residence in Laos for Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it said in a regulatory filing.

Luckytex (Thailand) Pcl (LTX TB) jumped 5.8 percent to 46 baht. The producer of polyester fabrics will pay a dividend of 1.25 baht per share, it said in a regulatory filing.

PTT Exploration & Production Pcl (PTTEP) , Thailand’s only publicly traded oil explorer, dropped 1.7 percent to 149 baht. Crude oil fell as much as 1.7 percent to $83 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
