Chelsea Clinton to Join Board of Directors at Diller’s IAC/InterActiveCorp
IAC/InterActiveCorp. said Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former U.S. President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, joined the company’s board.
Clinton, 31, previously worked at McKinsey & Co. and Avenue Capital, New York-based IAC said in a regulatory filing. She is now pursuing a doctorate at Oxford University, and working with the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative, IAC said.
Clinton also serves on the boards of the Clinton Foundation, the School of American Ballet, Common Sense Media and the Weill Cornell Medical College, according to the filing.
“Her skills and background complement the existing areas of expertise of other board members,” Justine Sacco, an IAC spokeswoman, said in an e-mailed statement.
The company also named Sonali De Rycker of the venture capital firm Accel Partners to its board. De Rycker, 38, is based in London and focuses on Internet and software investments, according to the filing.
IAC, which operates the dating website Match.com and Newsweek Daily Beast, rose 17 cents to $40.49 at 4 p.m. New York time on the Nasdaq Stock Market. The stock has gained 41 percent this year.
